About Us

Welcome to Busy Bees Stay and Play Under 5's! Founded in 1994, we are a community charity located in Milborne St Andrew, Dorset, with a mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children under 5 to explore, learn, and grow. Over the years, we have built strong connections with Ladybirds preschool and The Milborne St Andrews First School, enriching our network and benefiting the children in our care.  Our Charity number: 1036825. 

Our History

Since our founding in 1994, we have welcomed countless children through our doors, offering tailored activities for early development. Our play sessions, educational activities, and parental support have provided a holistic approach to child development, creating a nurturing space for children to thrive. We take pride in being a drop-in stay and play group, where children and their caregivers can socialize, make friends, and enjoy a cup of coffee and snacks. We are inclusive and offer SEND support, ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment.

Our Team

At Busy Bees, we are proud to have a small team of passionate individuals who are committed to creating a positive and enriching experience for the children we serve. Our team is focused on providing a welcoming and supportive environment, where children can engage in sensory play, storytelling, and basic numeracy and literacy activities. We also offer transition support for children preparing to move on to preschool, ensuring a smooth transition for both children and parents.

Parental Support and Resources

Our commitment to supporting parents is at the heart of what we do.  We try to provide valuable support to parents, helping them navigate the early stages of their child's development. Our play sessions are not only designed to engage children but also to offer a space for parents to connect, share experiences, and gain valuable insights into early childhood development. Our goal is to create a community of support for both children and parents, enriching the overall experience of Busy Bees Stay and Play Under 5's.
